Leroy Brockway, 84, of Double Springs, passed away Monday, July 6, 2026 at Hendrix Health and Rehabilitation.
Leroy was born September 27, 1941 to Ezra and Alice Brockway. He enjoyed watching short track car racing, listening to evangelists on the radio and to political talk shows. He drove his own truck for 20 years and for Walmart for over 25 years. Leroy loved his animals and his family most of all.
Visitation will be Friday, July 10, 2026 from 12-2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, with his graveside service to follow at Mt. Ebron Baptist Church Cemetery. Ed Townsend and Etsel Riddle will officiate.
Leroy is survived by his children, Michael (Angela) Brockway, David (Nancy) Brockway, Dean Brockway, Elizabeth Nelson and Darra Lynn (Mike) VadeBoncoeur; sister, Luci Tumas; brother, Bert Brockway; grandchildren, Elizabeth Cifuentes, Joey (Brianna) Brockway, Megan (Jacob) Murray, Nathan Brockway (Emma Claire Sak), Allison Brockway, Lisa (Brad) Sutherland, Jessica (Michael) Fischler, Brooke Bloom, Patrick (Dani) Brockway, Andrew (Amanda) Brockway, Emily Brockway, Amber (Dan) Bennett, Brock Sutterwhite, Holly Nelson, Gabe Nelson, Danae (Jeb) VadeBoncoeur and Devon (Jake) VadeBoncoeur; 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra and Alice Brockway; wife, Martha Brockway; daughter, Connie Moody; sons, Jeff Brockway and Ronald Brockway; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Brockway; sons-in-law, Jimmy Dale Moody and Phillip Nelson and brother-in-law, John Tumas.
