Vandals strike at Lynn Cemetery


Tombstones are knocked over in the Lynn Cemetery.
LYNN - Residents and law enforcement are working together to patrol roads at Lynn Community Cemetery, after extensive vandalism resulted in gravestones being overturned, vases pulled from other stones and decorations and flowers strewn.

Town of Lynn names Bryan Kirkpatrick as police chief

LYNN – After several months with no police presence, the town of Lynn has hired a police chief, who is no stranger to police work. Bryan Kirkpatrick, former chief deputy with the Winston County Sheriff’s Office, was named chief of police during Lynn’s town meeting Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020. His effective date was the next day, Jan. 22.

DOUBLE SPRINGS - “Remember the Fallen, Thank the Living” is the theme for this year’s National Police Week, which will be May 12-18. Winston County is planning a special ceremony honoring its fallen officers, with two new names to be added to the list of those who died in the line of duty.
