Motorists in the area of Highway 13 at 25th Street in Haleyville are being advised that a section of the road is closed until at least Friday due to an ongoing sewer project.
HALEYVILLE - Motorists should avoid the area of Highway 13 at 25th Street in Haleyville if at all possible this week. A section of roadway has been closed, due to an ongoing sewer project. A 12x12 section of roadway has been dug up with plans to install a manhole, according to Drew Thrasher, superintendent of the Haleyville Sewer Board.
Thrasher explained that work crews have not been able to access a line coming off 25th Street. The usage of special equipment recently located the line, so a manhole is being installed in order for crews to have easier access. Robinson & Son Construction of Haleyville is doing the work under the supervision of the Haleyville Sewer Board, Thrasher said. Motorists should expect that area of roadway to be closed until at least Friday, he added.
