HOUSTON - Lightning may have been the cause of a structure fire on County Road 61 in Houston Friday morning, March 18.
Firefighters with the Central Fire Department were dispatched around 8:38 a.m. to the report of a structure fire, with Arley and Double Springs fire departments providing assistance. Firefighters were able to put the fire out quickly, utilizing approximately 700 gallons of water.
The ensuing fire caused damage to the rear of the structure. Firefighters believe lightning ran in on a heating and cooling unit at the back of a manufactured home. There were no injuries.
