HALEYVILLE - Two long-time educators at Haleyville City Schools, with a combined service of 60 years, will be retiring at the end of the school year.
Retirement for Haleyville City School STEAM Coordinator/Assistant High School Principal Candy Garner was approved by the Haleyville Board of Education at their March 16 meeting, effective July 1.
Retirement of Middle School 7th grade Science Teacher Susanne Trallo will be effective on May 25, the board also approved.
“We would like to thank Mrs. Trallo and Mrs. Garner for their service to Haleyville City Schools,” said HCS Principal Dr. Holly Sutherland. “Both of these ladies have done an exceptional job. We always hate to lose amazing employees, but we are also excited that they will be beginning a new chapter in their lives.
“They have both served our schools well. It is hard to replace good employees, but we will begin that process over the next few weeks,” Sutherland added.
