Political forum set for September 29

DOUBLE SPRINGS - The Winston County Farmers Federation will be holding what they expect to be one of their largest political forums ever on Monday, Sept. 29, and everyone is welcome.
The forum, which will be held at the Double Springs Municipal Building on Highway 195 south, will feature dozens of federal, state and local candidates who will be on the ballot for the primary elections in May, 2026.  With several key positions up for election next year locally, statewide and nationally, this is a good opportunity to meet the candidates and learn where they stand on topics.
The forum will begin at 5 p.m. with a meet and greet, where candidates and/or their representatives will have one-on-one conversations with residents.  A group photo of all the candidates will be taken at 5:50 p.m., then each candidate will be given time to speak, starting at 6 p.m.
Some of the candidates that have confirmed their attendance are lieutenant governor candidates Rick Pate, and Dr. Nicole Jones Wadsworth, as well as Alabama attorney general candidate Katherine Robertson  They will be joined by numerous other candidates.
Any candidate who would like to have the opportunity to speak is welcome, regardless of political affiliation.  To sign up, call (205) 269-0073.
All area residents are encouraged to come out, learn about the issues and meet the candidates.
