Area volleyball tournaments begin Wednesday

All area volleyball teams will begin post-season runs this week, beginning with their respective area tournaments.

Here are the area tournament schedules for teams in the Alabamian's coverage area:

Class 1A, Area 10

The Lynn Lady Bears will host its area tournament this year.  They will take on Hubbertville Thursday, Oct. 16, at 4 p.m.  Sumiton Christian and Berry will play at 5:30 p.m.  The winners of the two matches will play for the championship at 7 p.m.

Class 1A, Area 13

The Phillips She Bears will travel to Marion County High School in Guin for their area tournament Thursday, October 16.  Phillips will take on the host school at 2 p.m.  Brilliant and Hackleburg will play at 3:30 p.m.  The winner of each match will play for the area championship at 5 p.m.

Class 1A, Area 14

Addison High School is hosting its area tournament this year.  The Lady Dawgs will take on St. Bernard Prep Thursday, Oct. 16, at 4:30 p.m.  Meek will take on Cullman at 5:30 p.m.  The winner of each match will play for the area championship at 6:30 p.m.

Class 2A, Area 15

Winston County High School is hosting its area tournament this year.  Falkville and Cold Springs will play Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 1 p.m.  The winner of that match will take on the Lady Yellow Jackets at 3 p.m. for the area championship.

Class 4A Area 10

The Haleyville Lady Lions will be traveling to Fayette County High School for their area tournament.  Haleyville will take on Hamilton Thursday, Oct. 16, at 4:30 p.m.  The winner of that match will take on Fayette County for the area championship at 6:30 p.m.
