Bettie Louise Duncan, 78, of Winfield, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Bettie was born April 3, 1947 to Tom and Kathaleen Lynn. She attended Carbon Hill Church of God. She loved Jesus and wanted everyone to come to Him before it is too late. While the family grieves her absence, they are rejoicing with the assurance that she is with her Savior, whom she loved and served so faithfully. Her life will leave behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and a steadfast faith that will continue forever.
Visitation will be Monday, February 16, 2026 from 6-8 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where her funeral will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 12 p.m.. Burial will be at Whitehouse Cemetery. Brother Johnny Sims will officiate.
Bettie is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann (Farron) Mclemore and Teresa Gaspar; son, Charles (Jody) Coolidge; brother, Grover (Jeri) Lynn; grandchildren, Eva Elmore, Greg Dotson, Heather (Gregory) Mitchell, Anthony (Jennifer) Cagle, Elijah Gaspar, Victoria (Tyler) Parks, and Jonathon Elmore; great-grandchildren, Peyton Elmore, Allison Elmore, Ashley Elmore, Kason Dotson, Ella Purser, Sophia Purser, Lucas Purser, Rylee Parks, and Madelyn Cagle; a host of nieces and nephews and special friends, Ann and Cindy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Kathaleen Lynn; brothers, James Lynn and Eugene Lynn; sisters, Dorothy and Edna; late husbands, Chester Coolidge, Jim Bragwell, and Stanley Duncan and grandsons, Andrew Coolidge and Matthew Cagle.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Carbon Hill Church of God for their love and support during this time of transition. "We love y'all!" Also, the family would like to extend special "thanks" to both the Contact Support Line and Amedisys Hospice for the care and compassion they have shown Mrs. Bettie through her illness.
