Shelia Kim Lynette Hood, 56, of Double Springs, entered into rest on July 25, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Mrs. Hood was born on March 6, 1962, in Haleyville. Shelia obtained her GED in 1983. She loved her boys, grandchildren and siblings. She always put family before herself and was "Nanny Shelia" to all the kids. Shelia had a servant's heart and wanted the best for everybody and never sought to get even with anyone. She was a very trustworthy and reliable friend to the sick, especially her sister Paula. Shelia was thoughtful and compassionate to those who were hurting and loved God which was shown through all the things she did for others. She was the essence of love and was loved by everyone she encountered. She enjoyed fishing, growing flowers and was a wonderful cook. She will be forever missed but never forgotten.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at the home of Rodney and Gennie Garrison in Double Springs.
Shelia is survived by her sons, Elijah Ace Pheonix, Kevin Ray Adair and his wife Tanya, Timothy Shawn Adair; father, Eugene Miller; brothers, Mike Miller, Joseph Frost Jr. and his wife Tammy; sisters, Paula Hill and her husband John, Josette Lyons, Gennie Garrison and her husband Rodney, and Mayrene Martin. She was "Nanny" to seven grandchildren, Elisah Trace Pheonix, Maverick Jay-Lee Pheonix, David Morgan Jones, Brandon Terry Ray Adair, Annie Kaylee Adair, Aston Renee Adair and Clayton Green.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Geneva Frost; step-father, Joseph Frost Sr.; step-mother, Easter Miller and niece, Lisa Flanagin.
The funeral is directed by Nichols Funeral Home.
