Jack Brock Simmons

Jack Brock Simmons, 86, of Harvest, AL, died Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Huntsville Hospital, Madison, Alabama.

Born Thursday, June 16, 1932 in Haleyville, (Winston County) AL, he was the son of Howard Lee Simmons and Erma L. Brock Simmons.

He attended Haleyville High School and numerous military and civil service technical schools.

He was a veteran of four years military service in the U.S. Air Force, 1952-1956. He was a retired civil service employee of the U.S. Army Missile Command Redstone Arsenal for over 30 years, from 1957-1987.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Haskell Simmons, Hewett Simmons, Robert Simmons, Johnny Simmons, Ralph Simmons and Kirby Simmons; sisters, Mary Washburn and Brenda Simonds, step-son, Kim Huggins.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Simmons, Harvest; sons, Bryan (Darlene) Simmons, Harvest and Brett (Ann) Simmons, Springhill, TN; sisters, Betty Papile, Muscle Shoals; step-daughter, Suzanne (Tom) Keel-Eckmann, Seattle, WA; step-son, Terry (Tina) Huggins, Huntsville, AL; granddaughters, Amy Simmons, Huntsville; Anna Simmons, Harvest;, Taylor Simmons, Ardmore, TN and Ashley Padgett, Springhill, TN; grandsons, Austin Simmons, Ardmore, TN, Colton Simmons, Ardmore, TN, Jason Karam, Portland, OR and Jonathan Padgett, Springhill, TN; great-grandchild, Aidan Simmons; numerous nephews and nieces.

A private family visitation will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 11 a.m. until noon at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore.
