Haleyville Post 33 defeats Hamilton 10-0; Addison captures lead early to defeat Haleyville

HALEYVILLE - Kaleb Garrett had all the right stuff on Monday, July 8, for Haleyville Post 33, allowing zero runs and besting Hamilton by a score of 10-0
Haleyville opened up scoring in the first inning. Brody Gravitt's sac fly scored one run for Haleyville.
Post 33 scored three runs in the second inning. Camden Smith and Morgan Long all drove in runs in the frame.
A single by Seth Knight in the third inning was a positive for Hamilton.
Garrett earned the victory on the mound for Haleyville. He went five innings, allowing zero runs on three hits, striking out six and walking one.
Ben Moore was on the pitcher's mound for Hamilton. He lasted four innings, allowing eight hits and 10 runs while striking out three.
Haleyville launched one home run on the day. Long went deep in the second inning.
Post 33 collected eight hits. Long, Mac Wilcoxson and Smith all had multiple hits for Haleyville Post 33. Long went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Haleyville in hits.
Later in the evening Haleyville fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 10-0 loss to Addison. Addison took the lead on a single in the first inning.
Haleyville lost despite out-hitting Addison four to three.
In the first inning, Addison got their offense started. Addison scored one run when Williams singled.
A single by Gravitt in the first inning was a positive for Haleyville.
Luke Waldrep led things off on the hill for Addison. He allowed four hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking one.
Wilcoxson led things off on the pitcher's mound for Haleyville Post 33. He went two innings, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out three. Josh Weaver, Long, and Hayden Armstrong each contributed in relief for Haleyville.
Caleb Williams, Grant Wakefield, Dylan Kutis, and Gravitt all had one hit to lead Haleyville. Post 33 was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error.  Garrett made the most plays with 10.
Addison stole seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Brody Dollar led the way with three.
