Ward named Troy’s new pitching coach

TROY - Holly Ward, a Haleyville native and HHS graduate, has been hired as Troy University’s new softball pitching coach.She was an assistant at Mississippi State, her alma mater, last season.  Ward holds multiple MSU records and ranks in the top 10 in numerous other single-season and career categories.  She is the school record holder for shutouts and perfect games. Ward started 23 games as a senior for the Bulldogs and posted a 1.43 ERA. She was also the pitcher for the Haleyville Lady Lions, bringing home two back-to-back state championship in 2012-13.
Following her playing career, Ward played professionally for Scrap Yard Fast Pitch.Ward is the daughter of Kevon and Tracie Ward, of Haleyville.
