Fire damages Knight residence

HALEYVILLE - A fire Thursday afternoon, Oct. 3, damaged the residence of Ruby Knight, located at 1651 County Road 51, bringing response from the Haleyville Fire Department.

The fire department made an interior attack to battle a blaze that heavily damaged the kitchen and dining room area of the home and left smoke damage throughout the residence, noted Haleyville Acting Fire Chief Terrell Baccus. 

No one was home when the fire occurred, according to Benny Knight, Ruby's step-son who was on the scene.
