Elzie Weston Scott Jr.

Elzie Weston Scott Jr., 74, of Phil Campbell, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018, at his residence after a rather brief illness.

Visitation with family and friends will be Tuesday, March 20, 2018, after 5 p.m.,at Vandiver Hollow Missionary Baptist Church, Tuscumbia. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 21, at 2 p.m., at Vandiver Hollow Missionary Baptist Church, Tuscumbia, with Jeremy Murray officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining Vandiver Hollow Cemetery. Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.

Born in Sheffield, Scott had lived in Phil Campbell for the past 45 years and was employed by TVA as a boilermaker for 36 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a Shriner, a Mason, and a member of Vandiver Hollow Missionary Baptist Church. 

Preceding him in death were his parents, Elzie Weston Scott, Sr. and Julia May Gibson Scott. 

Scott is survived by his wife, Minnie Elizabeth Scott; children, Sandra Gale Scott, Theresa Annette Adams, Earl Wayne Scott, Charlotte Ann Bohannon, and Christopher Bohannon, son-in-law. Surviving siblings include sisters, Frances Scott and Martha Carter; and brothers, David, James Calvin, and Raymond Scott. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren: Elizabeth Gale Scott, Brenda Bohannon, Patricia Nicole Bohannon, Christopher Allen Bohannon, Jr., Lindsey Nicole Scott Latray, Ashley Brindley, Addison Presley, Spencer Wayne Adams, Jason Adams, and Johnathan Adams; and a host of nieces and nephews.
