Where local football teams rank in regional standings

WINSTON COUNTY - With the 2021 high school football regular season in its final weeks, the Alabama High School Athletic Association has released the standings for each region across all 7 classes.

The following are the regions with teams in the Alabamian's coverage area, and where local teams stand going into the last three weeks of regular season.  The top four teams in each region will go on to post-season play beginning the first Friday in November.  Typically, the top two teams in a region get to host their first-round playoff game, while the third and fourth teams travel.

Class 1A, Region 6:

Pickens County: 5-1 overall, 4-0 region;

Meek:  4-2 overall, 3-1 region;

Marion County:  5-2 overall, 2-2 region;

Hubbertville:  4-2 overall, 2-2 region;

Berry:  2-4 overall, 2-2 region;

South Lamar:  2-4 overall, 2-2 region;

Brilliant:  1-5 overall, 1-3 region;

Lynn:  1-5 overall, 0-4 region.

 

Class 1A, Region 8:

Decatur Heritage:  5-2 overall, 4-0 region;

R.A. Hubbard:  4-2 overall, 4-0 region;

Hackleburg:  4-2 overall, 3-1 region;

Shoals Christian:  3-4 overall, 2-2 region;

Phillips:  2-5 overall, 2-2 region;

Waterloo:  1-5 overall, 1-3 region;

Cherokee:  0-6 overall, 0-4 region;

Vina:  0-6 overall, 0-4 region.

 

Class 2A, Region 5:

Midfield: 5-1 overall, 3-1 region;

Aliceville:  5-2 overall, 3-1 region;

Sulligent:  3-3 overall, 2-1 region;

Addison:  4-3 overall, 2-2 region;

Lamar County:  4-2 overall, 1-2 region;

Winston County:  3-3 overall, 1-2 region;

Cold Springs:  0-6 overall, 0-3 region.

Class 4A, Region 5:

Northside:  5-1 overall, 4-0 region;

Gordo:  4-2 overall, 2-1 region;

Fayette County:  3-3 overall, 2-1 region;

Hamilton:  4-3 overall, 2-2 region;

Haleyville:  3-4 overall,  1-2 region;

Oak Grove:  1-6 overall, 1-3 region;

Curry:  0-6 overall, 0-3 region.
