Pursuant to Title IV of the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977, 30 U.S.C. 1201 et seq., and the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, the Alabama Department of Labor (ADOL) in cooperation with the U.S. Department of the Interior, Office of Surface Mining, is soliciting public comment on an abandoned mine land reclamation project proposed for Title IV funding during Fiscal Year 2020. A written description of the Old Lynn Road Portal Abandoned Mine Land Project, developed by ADOL, will be available for public review at the Haleyville Public Library until April 25, 2021.
