Truck hauling frozen chickens overturns on Newburg Road

FRANKLIN COUNTY - A Freightliner hauling several thousand pounds of frozen chickens lost control in a sharp curve and overturned just off Newburg Road Wednesday morning, Oct. 28, injuring both the driver and passenger.

Wood denied parole

FRANKLIN COUNTY - The Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles denied parole to Jory Scott Wood Tuesday, Nov. 19. Wood was convicted in February, 2019, of violating the sex offender notification law in Franklin, Colbert and Lauderdale counties and is serving a 15-year prison term.
