WINSTON COUNTY - They flutter by and buzz around doing important work, pollinating flowers and crops. During the Great Southeast Pollinator Census on Aug. 22 and 23, it’s time for them to land and be counted.

WINFIELD - The Alabama Cooperative Extension System and Northwest Alabama RC&D Council will hold a pasture walk-through for residents of Winston, Walker, Fayette, Marion and Lamar counties at the Upper Coastal Plains Substation, 171 Experiment Loop, Winfield, Ala., on Friday, July 25.

DOUBLE SPRINGS - Regional Extension Agent and Horticulturist Jayne Luetzow conducted a Holiday Decorating with Nature workshop at the Double Springs Municipal Building on Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 2-4 p.m.

WINSTON COUNTY - Almost 29 percent of all Alabamians are physically inactive, meaning they don’t do any physical activity or exercise outside of their normal jobs.

WINSTON COUNTY - This year, Zach Brannon, Winston County Extension Coordinator, has been honored by the National Association of County Agricultural Agents (NACAA), the Alabama Association of County Agricultural Agents and Specialists (AACAAS) and the Alabama Farmers Federation.

NACAA presented Brannon with a 2022 Achievement Award. These awards “recognize excellence in the field of professional Extension.” They are the highest honor an agent with less than ten years of experience in the field can receive from both NACAA and AACAAS.
