POPLAR SPRINGS - A Walker County man faces first degree theft charges after trying to force entry into a residence and stealing a lawn mower while possibly being connected to an ongoing break-in spree of residences in the area.

WINFIELD - Alabama District 17 State Representative Tracy Estes was arrested on Friday, Sept. 20, on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge.

ASHRIDGE - A Guin man faces assault charges after allegedly stabbing an Ashridge man in the chest then fleeing the scene to Fayette County, where he was apprehended.

DOUBLE SPRINGS - The Winston County Sheriff's Office has released the full list of charges against the parents of a 2-month-old infant, who was killed December 30.

ARLEY - A 19-year-old man who allegedly injured an elderly woman when forcing his way into her home during a home invasion, faces burglary and assault charges, as well as possible deportation back to Mexico after it was discovered he was in the country illegally, authorities said.

HALEYVILLE - Law enforcement are hoping an alleged case of insurance fraud linked to a burned house on Walnut Avenue in Haleyville and grand jury indictments against two Haleyville men, will set a precedent that these cases will not be tolerated.

LYNN - A Walker County woman faces arson and theft charges related to an Oct. 16 house fire on Dodd Street, where the homeowner suspected a fire was set in three separate locations in his home as well as some items taken.

DOUBLE SPRINGS - The man, who broke into Blue Moon Beverages and stole the safe, as well as his accomplice, who drove the getaway vehicle, have each been charged in connection with the early morning incident on Saturday, Aug. 27.

HALEYVILLE - One of the largest multi-room drug busts at the Imperial Inn on Highway 13 in Haleyville has resulted in multiple packages of marijuana, meth and pills being confiscated and five persons, including an office employee, being arrested.

HALEYVILLE - A Haleyville man, who is formerly of Eufaula, was arrested within 24 hours after allegedly breaking into and stealing from a Haleyville business.
