Winston County Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony & Lynn High School inductees

WINSTON COUNTY - The 25th anniversary of the Winston County Sports Hall of Fame is this year, and the annual ceremony will take place Saturday, July 16, at 5:30 p.m. at the Haleyville Middle School cafeteria. The Alabamian is profiling this year’s inductees over the next few weeks. Addison and Haleyville high schools’ inductees have already been featured. This week’s profiles are the inductees for Lynn High School: Matthew Cagle and Maggie Finley Thomas. Winners of the Ebb Deason award, Ashley Aldridge and Cale Tittle, are also featured.

HALEYVILLE - The annual Winston County Sports Hall of Fame will be held Saturday, July 20, at the Haleyville Elementary School cafetorium. Tickets will be $20 for the steak dinner and may be purchased at the branches of Traders and Farmers Bank or at the door.
Tony Giles, the “Voice of the Crimson Tide” at Bryant-Denny Stadium and Coleman Coliseum, will be the master of ceremonies. The keynote speaker will be Tyler Watts, former Alabama quarterback.

HALEYVILLE -The Haleyville Elementary School Cafetorium was filled with those in attendance of the 2018 Winston County Sports Hall of Fame banquet Saturday, July 21.
Mitch Nethery, pastor of the Haleyville First United Methodist Church, gave the invocation. A steak dinner, catered by Russell’s Rising Smoke, was served by members of the HHS varsity and junior varsity cheerleading squads.
