Louise McKleroy

Louise Elizabeth McKleroy, born May 22, 1933, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Ridgewood Nursing Home.

A devoted member of Old Union Baptist Church, Louise faithfully served as music director for many years, sharing her love of worship through song. Her faith in the Lord was the foundation of her life and she carried that love into her family, whom she cherished deeply. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose kindness and warmth touched all who knew her.

Louise also spent many years working at Carol’s Boutique, where she formed lasting friendships and found great joy in the people she worked alongside.

Her visitation will be Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Old Union Baptist Church in Nauvoo. Her funeral will be at 12 p.m. at the church, with Bro. Ricky Thrasher and Bro. Shawn Morgan officiating. Burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery.  Pinkard Funeral Home will direct.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Lois Trimble; her husband of 55 years, Mayo McKleroy; her daughters, Melissa Alsup and Tina Miles and her sisters, Jeanette Romine and Virginia Hopson.

She is survived by her son-in-law, Keith Alsup; her grandchildren, Brad and Magen Alsup and Brian and Delisha Sims; her great-grandchildren, Samantha Miller, Amy and Austin Smith, Hannah Grace Alsup, Joley Sims, Ty Sims and Will Alsup and her great-great-grandchildren, Charlie Lawrence and Sawyer Smith. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members who will continue to honor her memory.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Ridgewood Nursing Home for the compassionate and dedicated care they provided to Mrs. McKleroy over the past six years. Their kindness and commitment to her comfort and well-being will always be remembered.
