Dual threats on the water this year

SMITH LAKE - Memorial Day kicked off the summer season in a big way, but under entirely new circumstances, as the public flocked to beaches and waterways often not following warnings related to social distancing and other measures being urged to follow due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

ARLEY - A $535,000 project providing high speed internet service to 200 residents in the Sipsey Pines subdivision at Smith Lake is receiving a major boost from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs.

LAKESHORE - The Winston County Smith Lake Advocacy Group held an annual meeting at Lakeshore Inn Restaurant on May 11, 2018, and held nominations for board of director appointees. Three members were nominated to the board: Ross Cole, Brian Kuntz and Lou Kuntz.
