James Buel Cutcher

James Buel Cutcher, 89, of the Sardis community, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025 at Hendrix Health and Rehabilitation Center in Double Springs. 

James was born November 8, 1935 to James and Edna Cutcher. He loved his children and grandchildren and instilled his work ethic in each of them. He was a lifelong Alanta Braves and Alabama Crimson Tide fan. 

A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Sardis No.2 Missionary Baptist Church in the Sardis community. Bro. Tim Box will officiate.  Nichols Funeral Home will direct.

James is survived by his sons, Yogi (Barbara) Cutcher and Dusty (Kim) Cutcher; daughter, Susan (Terry) Burgess; grandchildren, Josh (Allison) Burgess, Bethany (Drew) Powell, Cody (Kayla) Hall, Ashley (Tony) Valladares, Brittany Duke, Ryan (Emily) Hall and Lauren (Ryan) Walker; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Dale Cutcher and a host of nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Josh and Edna Ida Cutcher and sister, Dean Morgan.
