DOUBLE SPRINGS - Double Springs has received its slice of the pie to fund a highly anticipated project to revamp Mike Gilbreath Memorial Park.
Governor Kay Ivey on Monday, Dec. 17, announced over $1 million in grants to improve recreational sites in 10 Alabama communities, including Double Springs nd Red Bay, according to Ivey’s office.
“Improving Alabama’s parks, trails and fields makes our communities better places to live and promotes healthier and happier people,” Ivey said.
“Seeing well-maintained and well-used parks, playgrounds and trails says so much about a community and the vitality of its people,” added Kenneth Boswell, director of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs.
