CURRY - There will be a fundraiser supper for the family of late Curry Volunteer Assistant Fire Chief Richard Meeks Thursday, Sept. 10, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, located at 6450 Curry Highway in Curry.
For $15, attendees will receive a plate of spaghetti casserole, green bean salad, bread and dessert. Dine-in or carryout.
Meeks, 41, passed away May 9, after suffering complications from bacterial meningitis.
The supper is being sponsored by the Arley Fire Department, Arley United Methodist Church, Arley Women’s Club, Bank of Walker County, Curry Ace Hardware, Curry Fire Department, Gateway of Curry, Grayson Lumber, Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, The Olive Branch, Rotary Club of Smith Lake, Son’s of Arley, Williams Hardware and Winston County Rescue Squad.
