9-1-1 goes to Washington

BEAR CREEK - Names were read off as rolls of honor as the Bear Creek Civitan members met at the Bobby Bishop Community Center in Bear Creek to kick-off planning the annual Relay For Life bake sale. The event is slated for Thursday, March 29, and Friday, March 30, at the community Center.
It will be a great opportunity to get your desserts for Easter weekend. Delicious cakes, pies, cookies, cupcakes, breads and more will be available.

HALEYVILLE - The Haleyville Fire Department, with assistance from Bear Creek, Craft and Delmar, were on the scene of a fire at the Galley Restaurant on Highway 13 South Wednesday night into Thursday morning, Feb. 8. Owner Venita Armstrong Hamrick reported that the fire was at the rear of the restaurant. The extent of damage is being determined.
BEAR CREEK - As part of the Bear Creek Town Council meeting Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, action was taken to increase the spending limit for the three mill property tax fund for the fire department to $5,000 before bringing it to the council.
HALEYVILLE - The long awaited official announcement of the bands performing in the Haleyville 911 Festival Friday, June 1 is headlined by Craig Morgan. The remaining lineup leading up to Morgan’s headline act will start with Austin Lewis followed by Trinecia Hall Butler & the band Tremayne, followed by the ROCK sound from Handshake Promise followed by Red Marlow.
HALEYVILLE - Victoria Roose, a student at the University of North Alabama, was crowned the inaugural Miss 9-1-1 during the Haleyville Rotary Club's debut pageant Saturday, Feb. 3.
